About this tool

A QR code stores text in a square grid of modules that phone cameras can read in an instant, which makes it a bridge between print and the web. This generator creates codes for URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi details or any string, encoding the content as UTF-8 so non-Latin characters and emoji scan correctly. Choose the output size from 64 to 1024 pixels, colours for the modules and background, and one of four error-correction levels: L recovers about 7% of damage, M 15%, Q 25% and H 30%. Higher levels survive scratches or a logo placed in the middle but make the code denser. Download the finished code as a PNG. Codes generated here are static: they contain your data directly and never expire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these QR codes expire or track scans?
No. The content is written into the code itself, so it works as long as the printed image exists and the destination is still valid. There is no redirect service in between and scans are not counted.
Which error correction level should I choose?
M (15%) is a good default for screens and clean print. Choose Q or H for codes on packaging, outdoor signs or anything that may get dirty, and when you plan to place a logo over the centre. L keeps codes smallest for short-lived use.
What is the minimum size for a printed QR code?
A common rule is at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 in) for scanning at close range, and roughly one tenth of the scanning distance for signs. Leave a quiet margin of blank space around the code and keep strong contrast.
Can I use custom colours?
Yes, but keep dark modules on a light background with high contrast. Inverted codes (light on dark) and low-contrast colour pairs fail on many phone cameras, so test with several devices before printing.
Why is my code too dense or reported as too long?
The more characters you encode, the more modules the code needs. Shorten long URLs, remove tracking parameters, or lower the error correction level. Very long text simply cannot fit into a single scannable code.
